Setup

Preparing the Machine

  1. Park the machine on a level surface.

  2. Engage the parking brake.

  3. Shut off the engine and remove the key.

Installing the Deck-Retention Brackets

Parts needed for this procedure:

Deck-retention bracket2
Hex-head bolt2

  1. Find the locations to install the deck-retention brackets (Figure 1).

    Note: Observe the frame rails for a hole.

    If there are no holes in the frame rails, perform the following:

    1. Measure 19 mm (3/4 inch) from the inside of the frame rail and make a mark (Figure 2).

      Note: Ensure that the mark is aligned with the front of the console (Figure 3).

    2. Use the mark to drill a hole (11/32 inch) in the frame.

  2. Use a hex-head bolt to secure a bracket to each frame rail (Figure 4).

    Note: Position the upper tab of the bracket between the frame rail and the center console.
