Park the machine on a level surface.
Disengage the PTO, move the motion-control levers to the NEUTRAL-LOCK position, and engage the parking brake.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop before leaving the operating position.
Disconnect the battery; disconnect the negative (-) terminal first and the positive (+) terminal last.
Remove the fuel tank; refer to the Operator’s Manual for the machine.
Inside the left side of the tower, remove the relay from the connector (Figure 1).
Remove the screw, washer, and nut securing the connector to the tower (Figure 2).
Use a terminal removal tool to remove the secondary lock from the connector (Figure 3).
Use the terminal removal tool to remove the 2 terminals for the blue wires shown in Figure 4.
Cut the short wire connected to both terminals as close to the dual terminated terminal as possible (Figure 5). Discard the wire.
Important: Do not cut the other wire connected to the terminal.
Bend up the tab on the existing terminal to match the terminal of the new wire.
Install the existing wire harness terminal and the new wire harness terminal into the connector as shown in Figure 5.
Install the secondary lock on the connector (Figure 3).
Install the connector to the tower using the screw, washer, and nut removed previously (Figure 2).
Install the relay to the connector (Figure 1).
Remove the rubber cover from the starter post on the engine and remove the nut (Figure 8).
Following the existing wire harness, route the new wire harness to the starter post (Figure 9).
Install the ring from the new wire to the post and secure it with the nut. Install the rubber cover (Figure 8).
Secure the new wire harness to the existing wire harness using cable ties.
Install the fuel tank; refer to the Operator’s Manual for the machine.
Connect the battery; connect the positive (+) terminal first and the negative (-) terminal last.
