Preparing for Installation

Important: Before installing the Beacon Kit, you must install either the LED Work Light Kit, or a Universal Sunshade Kit with the Switch Panel Kit installed. Contact your authorized Toro distributor for more information.

Note: Retain all removed parts for later installation unless otherwise noted.

  1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower the attachment, shut off the machine, engage the parking brake, and remove the key.

  2. Turn the battery-disconnect switch to the OFF position; refer to the electrical system maintenance section of the traction unit Operator’s Manual.

Installing the Beacon

For Machines with a ROPS

Important: Before installing this kit, the ROPS must be equipped with the LED Work Light Kit. Contact your authorized Toro distributor for more information.

  1. Remove the rear nuts and bolts from the work light bracket as shown in Figure 1.

  2. Assemble the beacon to the bracket and install the beacon assembly as shown in Figure 2.

    Note: Ensure that the assembly is secure by tightening the wing nut on the beacon and the jam nuts on the socket once assembled.

  3. Locate the loose 2-pin socket from the work light wire harness and connect the beacon harness power connector.

  4. Pull the beacon harness up through the bottom of the hole in the beacon mount.

  5. Pull the beacon harness up through the bottom of the hole in the beacon mount.

  6. Connect the loose beacon harness connectors to the spades in the beacon socket (Figure 4).

    Note: The beacon connector can be threaded out of the beacon socket for connection (Figure 5).

    • Connect the red wire to the center beacon spade.

    • Connect the black wire to the outer beacon spade.

  7. Assemble the beacon to the bracket as shown in Figure 5.

    Note: Ensure that the assembly is secure by tightening the wing nut on the beacon and the jam nuts on the socket once assembled.

  8. Connect the beacon switch to the work light switch assembly as shown in Figure 6.

  9. Turn the battery-disconnect switch to the ON position; refer to the electrical system maintenance section of the traction unit Operator’s Manual.

For Machines with a Sunshade

Important: Before installing this kit, the sunshade must be equipped with the Switch Panel Kit. Contact your authorized Toro distributor for more information.

  1. Install the beacon mount bracket to the sunshade as shown in Figure 7.

  2. On top of the sunshade, locate the loose 2-pin socket from the switch panel wire harness and connect the beacon harness power connector.

  3. Pull the beacon harness up through the bottom of the hole in the beacon mount.

  4. Connect the loose beacon harness connectors to the spades in the beacon socket (Figure 9).

    Note: The beacon connector can be threaded out of the beacon socket for connection (Figure 10).

    • Connect the red wire to the center beacon spade.

    • Connect the black wire to the outer beacon spade.

  5. Assemble the beacon to the bracket and install the beacon assembly as shown in Figure 10.

  6. Remove the plug from the beacon switch opening on the switch panel (Figure 11).

  7. Connect the beacon switch to the switch panel as shown in Figure 12.

  8. Connect the battery; refer to the electrical system maintenance section of the traction unit Operator’s Manual.

Beacon Switch

Press the beacon switch to the ON position to activate the beacon.
